Comfort Annapoorna
The east-facing site is situated on the 12th main road in the renowned area of Jayanagar, Bengaluru. The location of the site is advantageous, being positioned amidst one of the most prominent commercial areas of Bengaluru. Resting on a 2400 sq.ft. rectangular plot, this mixed-use, four-storey edifice comprises a commercial space on the ground floor and two 2 BHK residences each on the remaining floors.
The 2000 sq.ft. commercial space on the ground floor is accessed by a grand flight of steps. A side passage in the north-east corner allows residents to access a common staircase to the residences above. A central ramp leads into the basement, where car parking is provided. Envisaging a contemporary, luxury living, an interplay between spaces was brought about by devising a simple, yet effective plan. The various spaces are oriented according to the principles of vastu, while carrying forward the concepts of continuity and connectivity. The kitchen and master bedrooms are situated in the south east and south west corners respectively. An introverted plan for the private areas and an open plan for the public areas was maintained, allowing us to create a defined differentiation between the two. Protrusions of balconies and utility areas allow plenty of natural light and ventilation into the interiors.
The essence of interior design will always be about the people and how they live. The strong geometry in the interiors fused with a thoughtfully selected colour palette creates a soft, aesthetic feel inducing a calm experience. The complimentary shades of brown and grey are contrasted by the bright orange kitchen cabinets, emphasising the bold interiors as per the client’s requirements.
The elegant facade speaks the language of simplicity and also doubles as a visual connection between the residences and the road.
