Nagaraj Farmhouse
Located in Bidadi, the neighbouring town of Bengaluru, this exuberant dwelling rests on a 2300 sq.ft land. The client’s requirements were simple. They wanted a lavish, modern farmhouse within a serene, natural setting, in order to escape the frenetic pace of city life.
We began by studying and understanding the functional demands that led to the formation of various interconnected spaces with adequate privacy. The coalescence of varying heights and volumes unifies the interiors vertically and horizontally, creating a sense of uniqueness.
The North-East entrance opens into a spacious guest lounge, which further leads into a large dining area. The double height feature of the dining area is balanced by a calm, beige colour palette. The kitchen in the South-East corner is divided into wet kitchen and dry kitchen, as per the requisites. The innermost area of the abode houses a guest bedroom and a luxurious, private living space.
The upper floor accommodates two bedrooms, a family living and a home theatre. Two diagonal cutouts overlooking the dining and the pooja, along with a wide open terrace triangulates a voluminous experience.
The extroverted design of the exterior invites an abundant amount of light and ventilation, while also enabling the users to an extensive view of the surrounding nature. ,The openness translated from the exterior to the interior reinvigorates the senses. The elevational profile manifests a harmonious interplay of vertical and horizontal elements, along with an exploration of solids and voids. The minimalistic colour palette reciprocates the calmness of the natural surroundings, and expresses a homely feeling.
