Ryan Fernandez Farmhouse
This project is a farmhouse residence for Mr. Ryan Fernandez, located in Bagalur Jain Farms. Situated on a 10,000 sq.ft farmland, this farmhouse narrates a journey of simplicity with a minimalistic protagonist.
Incorporating a glass facade on the east side enabled us to provide the residents with an opportunity to experience the lovely sounds of nature in the morning while watching an extravagant sunrise from within their luxurious holiday home. The transparency of the glass
walls dissolves the barrier between the outside and inside, strengthening the relationship with nature. It gives a clear view of the natural vicinity while inviting plenty of sunlight into the interiors. Exposed concrete was the major material used, allowing the anatomy of the architecture to gracefully blend in with its natural surroundings. The colours and materials integrated in this lavish 2 BHK residence were chosen carefully in order to respond well with the surrounding environment.
The holiday abode houses a large, central living with an open kitchen, flanked by bedrooms with attached bathrooms on either side. As per the client’s requirements, a garage with a studio was designed as a separate block. The flat roof generates a unifying language by harmonising itself with the vertical pillars as it covers the low-rise structure. A long porch in the front resting on a small plinth acts as a viewpoint as well as a transition between the outdoors and indoors. The plinth steps are offsetted with each step as an attempt to break the monotony of symmetric elements
